Once the seat of a thriving tobacco industry, Durham has seen some significant moments in American history.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Rosemont of Virginia Winery and Greensboro Historical Museum. 82nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum and Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Durham's surroundings by going to Conservators Center (in Burlington), Kersey Valley Spooky Woods (in Archdale) and Raleigh (North Carolina Museum of History, Artspace, & more). And it doesn't end there: explore the different monuments and memorials at God's Acre, admire the masterpieces at Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, contemplate the long history of Korner's Folly, and examine the collection at Patrick Henry's Red Hill.

If you are flying in from Turkey, the closest major airports are Raleigh Durham International Airport, Piedmont Triad International Airport and Roanoke–Blacksburg Regional Airport. Expect a daytime high around 19°C in November, and nighttime lows around 4°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
