The largest municipality in Missouri, Kansas City has an impressive array of world-class museums, shopping areas, and great places to eat, all of which attract tourism to the area.
Popular historic sites such as Union Station and Squirrel Cage Jail are in your itinerary. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and Arabia Steamboat Museum. Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Quintana Beach and Pine Gully Park. Get some cultural insight at The Seawall and Space Center Houston. Get out of town with these interesting Houston side-trips: Battleship Texas State Historic Site (in La Porte), Kemah Boardwalk (in Kemah) and Galveston (Galveston Historic Seaport - Home of the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA, The Strand, &more). There's still lots to do: engage your brain at The Houston Museum of Natural Science, identify plant and animal life at Cockrell Butterfly Center, take in the spiritual surroundings of The Chapel of St. Basil, and stroll the grounds of Glenwood Cemetery.
