Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Visit Fort Zachary Taylor and Truman Little White House for their historical value. Step out of the city life by going to Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory and Dry Tortugas National Park. Take a break from Key West with a short trip to National Key Deer Refuge in Big Pine Key, about 50 minutes away. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, find your balance on the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and discover the deep blue sea with Fun In The Sun Key West.

You can do a combination of bus and flight from New York City to Key West in 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive.
