Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial and Old Point Loma Lighthouse. Mission San Juan Capistrano and Visions Art Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to Laguna Beach (Victoria Beach & Heisler Park), Disney California Adventure Park (in Anaheim) and San Diego Zoo Safari Park (in Escondido). Attractions like The Met Cloisters and Ground Zero Museum Workshop make great kid-friendly stops. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Tenement Museum and Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Philadelphia (Old City Hall, Independence Hall, &more), Hyde Park (Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site, Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site, &more) and Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park (in Poughkeepsie).
