A vast expanse of pristine wetlands, Everglades National Park holds the distinction of being the largest tropical wilderness in the U.S. Overflow from Lake Okeechobee into the Florida Bay formed these wetlands, which are home to manatees, American crocodiles, Florida panthers, and an array of wading birds, land birds, and birds of prey.

Key West — 6 nights

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Museum-lovers will get to explore The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum and Key West Lighthouse and Keeper's Quarters Museum. Popular historic sites such as Truman Little White House and Curry Mansion Inn are in your itinerary. Spend the 10th (Mon) exploring nature at Dry Tortugas National Park. There's still lots to do: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Mary Star of the Sea, stroll the grounds of Key West Cemetery, and take in the pleasant sights at West Martello Tower.

Big Pine Key — 3 nights

Big Pine Key is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Monroe County, Florida, United States, on an island of the same name in the Florida Keys. Get in touch with nature at Bahia Honda State Park and Key West Angling. Do some cultural sightseeing at American Shoal Lighthouse and Artists in Paradise Gallery. Take a break from Big Pine Key with a short trip to Sea Monkey Ocean Adventures in Stock Island, about 38 minutes away. It doesn't end there: stroll through National Key Deer Refuge.
