Big Bear Lake is a small city in San Bernardino County, California, located in the San Bernardino Mountains along the south shore of Big Bear Lake, and surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest. Step off the beaten path and head to Rileys at Los Rios Rancho and Cougar Crest Trail. Get out of town with these interesting Big Bear Lake side-trips: Yucaipa Regional Park (in Yucaipa) and Wolf Mountain Sanctuary (in Lucerne Valley). And it doesn't end there: get some jogging in at Alpine Pedal Path, look for all kinds of wild species at Big Bear Alpine Zoo at Moonridge, trek along Pine Knot Trail, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Woodland Trail 1E23.
