Burlington — 1 night

Burlington is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Vermont and the seat of Chittenden County. Start off your visit on the 24th (Sat): see the interesting displays at Shelburne Museum, then contemplate the long history of Shelburne Farms, and then experience rural life at Country Dreams Farm. On the next day, tour the pleasant surroundings at Burlington Bike Path and then stroll around Waterfront Park.

New York City to Burlington is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from New York City in September, expect Burlington to be little chillier, temps between 75°F and 53°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Stowe.
