Cedar Rapids is the second largest city in Iowa and is the county seat of Linn County. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Prarie Park Fishery and Manchester Fish Hatchery. Your inner history buff will appreciate Kalona Historical Village and St. Francis Basilica. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cedar Rapids: Terry Trueblood Recreational Area (in Iowa City), Fireside Winery (in Marengo) and Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum (in West Branch). And it doesn't end there: contemplate the long history of Brucemore, identify plant and animal life at Indian Creek Nature Center, and see the interesting displays at National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.

To find other places to visit, more things to do, photos, and tourist information, read Cedar Rapids tour planning site .

In July, daily temperatures in Cedar Rapids can reach 82°F, while at night they dip to 62°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) to allow time to travel back home.
