Davenport is the county seat of Scott County in Iowa and is the largest of the Quad Cities, a metropolitan area with a population estimate of 382,630 and a CSA population of 474,226, making it the 90th largest CSA in the nation. Muscatine Art Center and Windmill Cultural Center are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Heritage Canyon and De Immigrant Windmill will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Davenport: Galesburg (Discovery Depot Children's Museum & Galesburg Railroad Museum) and Coralville (Antique Car Museum of Iowa & Clear Creek Trail). The adventure continues: explore the world behind art at Figge Art Museum, steep yourself in history at Pine Creek Grist Mill, and take an in-depth tour of German American Heritage Center.

To see other places to visit, maps, more things to do, and other tourist information, go to the Davenport journey planning tool .

In May, plan for daily highs up to 73°F, and evening lows to 51°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
