Georgia's oldest city, Savannah displays its colonial history proudly on every corner.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Fri): take in the spiritual surroundings of First African Baptist Church, then steep yourself in history at Juliette Gordon Low's Birthplace, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Mickve Israel Temple, and finally wander the streets of Savannah Historic District. Here are some ideas for day two: tour the pleasant surroundings at Wormsloe Historic Site, learn about all things military at Old Fort Jackson, examine the collection at American Prohibition Museum, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Colonial Park Cemetery, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, and finally walk around Forsyth Park.

Atlanta to Savannah is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In January, Savannah is somewhat warmer than Atlanta - with highs of 61°F and lows of 41°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sat) early enough to drive to Austell.
