Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.

You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Quintana Beach and Pine Gully Park. Step out of the city life by going to Galveston Water Adventures and Water Wall. Go for a jaunt from Houston to Kemah to see Kemah Boardwalk about 42 minutes away. There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at Space Center Houston, admire the natural beauty at Hermann Park's Japanese Garden, get curious at The Houston Museum of Natural Science, and tee off at Hermann Park.
