The River City

The sprawling city of Jacksonville is not only Florida's most populous city, but also the largest city by land area in the continental United States.
Kick off your visit on the 18th (Fri): pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, then look for all kinds of wild species at Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary, and then take in nature's colorful creations at The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. On your second day here, identify plant and animal life at St. Augustine Wild Reserve, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens, and then pause for some serene contemplation at St. John's Cathedral.

Charleston to Jacksonville is an approximately 4.5-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of car and train; or fly. While traveling from Charleston, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Jacksonville, ranging from highs of 72°F to lows of 50°F.
