Lexington

— 2 nights
Home to two prestigious educational institutions, Lexington was founded in 1778.
Explore Lexington's surroundings by going to National D-Day Memorial (in Bedford) and Appomattox Court House National Historical Park (in Appomattox). The adventure continues: gain insight at Virginia Military Institute, look for gifts at Earth, Fire, & Spirit Pottery, steep yourself in history at Lee Chapel and Museum, and take in the dramatic natural features at Natural Bridge State Park.

To find maps, where to stay, and other tourist information, you can read our Lexington online sightseeing planner.

Cleveland to Lexington is an approximately 7-hour combination of flight and bus. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and taxi. In April, plan for daily highs up to 58°F, and evening lows to 40°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
