Derby City

Kentucky’s largest city, Louisville, is best known as the home of the Kentucky Derby.
Step out of the city life by going to Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial and Louisville Mega Cavern. Appreciate the collections at Conrad-Caldwell House Museum (Conrad's Castle) and Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. Get out of town with these interesting Louisville side-trips: Santa Claus Museum (in Santa Claus) and The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass (in Simpsonville). And it doesn't end there: explore the world behind art at 21c Museum Hotel, get thoroughly spooked out with Old Louisville, contemplate the long history of Historic Locust Grove, and stroll the grounds of Zachary Taylor National Cemetery.

For ratings, photos, other places to visit, and more tourist information, you can read our Louisville trip website.

In October, plan for daily highs up to 71°F, and evening lows to 50°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
