Nestled in the heart of the valley formed by the Shenandoah River, Luray draws visitors with a vast underground cavern system adorned with stalactites, stalagmites, and mirrored pools.
Visiting Skyline Drive and Luray Caverns will get you outdoors. The Car and Carriage Caravan Museum and Shenandoah Valley Cultural Heritage Museum at The Edinburg Mill will appeal to museum buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Luray: Little Washington Winery (in Washington), James Madison's Montpelier (in Montpelier Station) and Old Rag Mountain Hike (in Shenandoah National Park). There's much more to do: sample the fine beverages at Copper Fox Distillery, do a tasting at River Hill Wine & Spirits, and see the interesting displays at Luray Valley Museum.

In March, daily temperatures in Luray can reach 54°F, while at night they dip to 32°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
