Detroit to Mackinac Island is an approximately 6-hour combination of flight and ferry. You can also do a combination of bus and ferry; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Detroit in July, with highs in Mackinac Island at 73°F and lows at 58°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Tue) early enough to catch the ferry to Saint Ignace.

Saint Ignace, usually written as St. Start off your visit on the 15th (Wed): get a taste of the local shopping with Fort de Baude Museum, take an in-depth tour of Museum of Ojibwa Culture, then make a trip to Indian Village, then admire the majestic nature at Straits State Park, and finally wander the wide-open spaces of Deer Ranch.

Traveling by ferry from Mackinac Island to Saint Ignace takes an hour. In July, plan for daily highs up to 73°F, and evening lows to 58°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Wed) so you can drive back home.
