The Forest City

Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
On the 10th (Fri), stop by Sherman's Books & Stationery, then take a stroll through Old Port, then sample the tasty concoctions at Allagash Brewing Company, and finally sample the tasty concoctions at Island Dog Brewing.

Start off your visit on the 11th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Statue of Liberty National Monument, wander the streets of Times Square, and then enjoy breathtaking views from Empire State Building. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: steep yourself in history at 9/11 Memorial and then take in the pleasant sights at Central Park.
