Best known for its 1692 witch trials, Salem has a number of significant historical sites, a bustling downtown, and many witch-themed attractions.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Fri): steep yourself in history at The House of the Seven Gables, steep yourself in history at Salem Maritime National Historic Site, and then look for gifts at Crow Haven Corner. Here are some ideas for day two: examine the collection at Salem Witch Museum, kick back and relax at Good Harbor Beach, and then identify plant and animal life at Halibut Point State Park.
