Detroit — 2 nights

Founded in 1701 by a French explorer and adventurer, Detroit exerted a profound impact on the world for most of the 20th century.
Detroit is known for sightseeing, museums, and nightlife. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: explore the world behind art at Detroit Institute of Arts, take in panoramic vistas at GM Renaissance Center, head off the coast to Belle Isle Park, and get engrossed in the history at Detroit Historical Museum.

To see reviews, other places to visit, ratings, and more tourist information, refer to the Detroit online itinerary builder.

Philadelphia to Detroit is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Philadelphia in August, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be little chillier in Detroit, with lows of 64°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 12th (Fri) so you can catch the flight back home.
