Marquette

Marquette is a city in the U.S. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Eben Ice Caves and Canyon Falls & Gorge and Marquette Mountain Ski and Bike Area. There's still lots to do: explore the engaging exhibits at Upper Peninsula Children's Museum, relax in the rural setting at Jilbert Dairy, admire the majestic nature at Presque Isle Park, and wander the streets of Downtown Marquette.

To find other places to visit, photos, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Marquette visit planner.

Indianapolis to Marquette is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Indianapolis in March, expect Marquette to be a bit cooler, temps between 32°F and 14°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.

Natural attractions steal the show on an Upper Peninsula vacation. Michigan's sparsely populated northern region is famous for its extensive shoreline along the Great Lakes and thick swathes of protected forest. Many of the region's waterways feature dramatic cascades, and a history of volcanic activity has created a wealth of interesting rock formations and colorful mineral deposits. Wildlife spotting remains a top reason to take a trip to Upper Peninsula, with deer, bears, wolves, and porcupines all easily seen in the area's pristine wilderness.
