Salem is an independent city in the U.S. When in Salem, make a side trip to see National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, approximately 50 minutes away. There's still lots to do: make a trip to Mill Mountain Star & Park, stop by Chocolatepaper, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. John's Episcopal Church, and learn the secrets of beer at a beer tour and tasting.

To find ratings, maps, traveler tips, and other tourist information, refer to the Salem trip itinerary site .

Hampton to Salem is an approximately 4-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of car and flight. January in Salem sees daily highs of 45°F and lows of 27°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sun) so you can travel back home.
