Known as "The Yellow Rose of Texas," Amarillo was once a series of ranches.

Get out of town with these interesting Amarillo side-trips: The Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight Ranch State Historical Site (in Goodnight), Lubbock (Buddy Holly Statue and West Texas Walk of Fame, The Buddy Holly Center, &more) and Armstrong County Museum (in Claude).
