Big Apple

Writer Pearl Buck once called New York City “a place apart,” and this giant urban center remains unlike any other in the world.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near New York City: Philadelphia (Wissahickon Valley Park, National Constitution Center, &more) and Grey Towers Castle (in Glenside). There's still lots to do: take in the pleasant sights at Central Park, admire the landmark architecture of Empire State Building, explore the world behind art at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and contemplate the long history of 9/11 Memorial.

Montauk to New York City is an approximately 2.5-hour car ride. You can also drive; or take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Montauk in April, you will find days in New York City are a bit warmer (61°F), and nights are about the same (45°F). On the 30th (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive back home.
