Lancaster

— 30 nights

Red Rose City

The heart of Pennsylvania's famous "Dutch Country," Lancaster is one of the nation's oldest inland cities, founded in 1730.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Longwood Gardens and Lancaster Central Market. Get out of town with these interesting Lancaster side-trips: Brandywine River Museum of Art (in Chadds Ford), Chester Valley Trail (in Exton) and Anson B. Nixon Park (in Kennett Square). Pack the 9th (Sat) with family-friendly diversions at Hersheypark. The adventure continues: get curious at The Lancaster Science Factory, explore the different monuments and memorials at Gettysburg National Cemetery, contemplate the long history of Eisenhower National Historic Site, and relax in the rural setting at The Amish Farm and House.

To find photos, other places to visit, where to stay, and tourist information, refer to the Lancaster trip site.

Ocala to Lancaster is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Ocala in January, expect Lancaster to be colder, temps between 37°F and 21°F. You will have some time to spend on the 31st (Sun) before leaving for home.
