New Orleans

— 30 nights

The Big Easy

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Venture out of the city with trips to Vacherie (Laura: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site, Oak Alley Plantation, &more), Houmas House Plantation and Gardens (in Darrow) and Whitney Plantation (in Wallace). Spend the 16th (Tue) exploring nature at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. The adventure continues: see the interesting displays at The National WWII Museum, get thoroughly spooked out with a ghost and vampire tour, wander the streets of Garden District, and make a trip to French Quarter.
