Woodstock is the shire town of Windsor County, Vermont, United States. Billings Farm & Museum and Marsh - Billings - Rockefeller National Historical Park will appeal to history buffs. Take a break from the city and head to Quechee Gorge and Montshire Museum of Science. Step out of Woodstock to go to Rutland and see Rutland murals, which is approximately 44 minutes away. There's much more to do: experience rural life at Sugarbush Farm, stroll through Thundering Falls Trail, sample the tasty concoctions at Long Trail Brewing Company, and steep yourself in history at President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site.

Manchester is a town in, and one of two shire towns (county seats) of, Bennington County, Vermont, United States. Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home and Honora Winery & Vineyard are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will get to explore The American Museum of Fly Fishing and Southern Vermont Natural History Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Manchester side-trips: Wilmington (Jim McGrath Gallery and Studio, The Art of Humor Gallery, &more), Mount Snow Resort (in Dover) and Stratton Mountain Resort (in Stratton Mountain). Middlebury is the shire town (county seat) of Addison County, Vermont, United States. Visit Hubbardton Battlefield and Rokeby for their historical value. Escape the urban bustle at D.A.R.
