Live Music Capital of the World

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Get some cultural insight at Briscoe Western Art Museum and The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Gardens. Head to Graffiti Park at Castle Hills and Round Rock Premium Outletsfor plenty of shopping. Venture out of the city with trips to Luckenbach Texas General Store (in Luckenbach), Burnet (Longhorn Cavern State Park & Inks Lake State Park) and Fredericksburg (Agave Gallery Fine Art, Vereins Kirche Museum, &more). Spend the 17th (Wed) exploring nature at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Blue Bell Creameries, explore the activities along Town Lake, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Garrison Brothers Distillery, and do a tasting at William Chris Vineyards.

In September, plan for daily highs up to 93°F, and evening lows to 71°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
