Norwalk, is the sixth most populous city in the U.S. Get out of town with these interesting Norwalk side-trips: Ansonia Nature & Recreation Center (in Ansonia), Collis P. Huntington State Park (in Redding) and New Haven (Yale Center for British Art, Yale University Art Gallery, &more). The adventure continues: admire nature's wide array of creatures at The Maritime Aquarium, browse the eclectic array of goods at Westport Farmers Market, trek along Norwalk River Valley Trail, and stroll through Pequonnock River Trail.

You'll find plenty of places to visit near Mystic: Norwich (Norwichtown Historic Cemetary & Yantic Falls), Bluff Point, Groton, Ct (in Groton) and Main Street Park, Essex Village (in Essex). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Mystic Seaport Museum, get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Mystic Aquarium, immerse yourself in nature at Gillette Castle State Park, and get engrossed in the history at Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center.

Hartford is the capital of the U.S. Explore Hartford's surroundings by going to American Legion and Peoples State Forests (in Barkhamsted), Hamden (Farmington Canal State Park & Sleeping Giant State Park) and Shenipsit Lake Trail - Blue Blazed (in Ellington).
