City of Bridges

Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Pittsburgh: Flight 93 National Memorial (in Stoystown), Flight 93 Memorial Chapel (in Stonycreek Township) and Somerset (Jager and Friends Dog Park & Laurel Hill State Park). There's lots more to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Washington, admire the masterpieces at The Andy Warhol Museum, stop by Strip District, and contemplate the long history of Fallingwater.

For where to stay, more things to do, maps, and other tourist information, refer to the Pittsburgh online trip itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Germany, the closest major aiports are Pittsburgh International Airport, Erie International Tom Ridge Field and Akron Fulton International Airport. In July, daily temperatures in Pittsburgh can reach 32°C, while at night they dip to 21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
