Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Fort Zachary Taylor and Sombrero Beach. Step out of the city life by going to The Overseas Highway and Dolphin Research Center. Get out of town with these interesting Key West side-trips: Bahia Honda State Park (in Big Pine Key) and The Turtle Hospital (in Marathon). Spend the 19th (Sun) exploring nature at Dry Tortugas National Park. In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
We've included these beaches for you: Lanikai Beach and Kailua Beach Park. Battleship Missouri Memorial and USS Arizona Memorial are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Honolulu side-trips: Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument (in Pupukea), Byodo-In Temple (in Kaneohe) and Shark Diving (in Haleiwa).
