Waterbury — 29 nights

Waterbury is a city in the U.S. state of Connecticut on the Naugatuck River, 33 miles southwest of Hartford and 77 miles northeast of New York City. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets and Dia Beacon. Get out of town with these interesting Waterbury side-trips: New Haven (Yale University, Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, &more), Boothe Memorial Park and Museum (in Stratford) and Beardsley Zoo (in Bridgeport). There's still lots to do: admire the masterpieces at Mattatuck Museum, get engrossed in the history at Old Sturbridge Village, take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and make a splash at Six Flags New England.
