The Capital of the South

Georgia’s largest city and capital, Atlanta is a thriving metropolis anchored by its southern roots.
When in Atlanta, make a side trip to see McFarlane Nature Park in Marietta, approximately Marietta away. Dedicate the 25th (Tue) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Next up on the itinerary: admire nature's wide array of creatures at Georgia Aquarium, steep yourself in history at Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, indulge in some culinary diversions at a local gastronomic tour, and walk around Piedmont Park.

A gateway to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Knoxville embraces music culture.
Venture out of the city with trips to River Rafting & Tubing (in Hartford), Revolutionary War Graveyard (in Dandridge) and Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Walker Sisters' Cabin, Elkmont Ghost Town, &more). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 30th (Sun) at Dollywood. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at East Tennesse Historical Society, sample the fine beverages at Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, look for all kinds of wild species at Ijams Nature Center, and see the interesting displays at Titanic Museum Attraction.
