Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Pfeiffer State Beach and Carmel River State Beach. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Cannery Row and Talbott Vineyards. Step out of Carmel to go to Big Sur and see Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, which is approximately 1h 5 min away.
