Part of Colorado's Royal Gorge Region, Cañon City straddles the Arkansas River.

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
On the 27th (Sat), witness a stunning natural landmark at Trimble Hot Springs, then relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, and then identify plant and animal life at Durango Fish Hatchery and Wildlife Museum. Traveling by combination of taxi and flight from Canon City to Durango takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of taxi, shuttle, and flight. Traveling from Canon City in June, Durango is a bit cooler at night with lows of 44°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Mon) early enough to drive to Moab.

The gateway to Utah's popular canyon country, Moab sits engulfed in the middle of desert wilderness.
Get outdoors at River Rafting & Tubing and Adrenaline & Extreme Tours. Venture out of the city with trips to Delicate Arch (in Arches National Park) and Island in the Sky (in Canyonlands National Park). It doesn't end there: scramble along the landscape with a canyoning and rapelling tour and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Double Down Bike Shop.
