With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Kids will enjoy Flamenco Beach and Culebrita Island. The adventure continues: enjoy the sand and surf at Zoni Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Melones Beach, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and get lost in a book at Culebra Public Library.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Attractions like Sun Bay Beach and Vieques National Wildlife Refuge make great kid-friendly stops. Rincon

A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
Kids will enjoy Playa Sucia and Aventura Cueva Ventana. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Rincon: Crashboat Beach (in Aguadilla), Isabela (Monumento al Cacique Mabodamaca & Jobos Beach) and Parque Nacional de las Cavernas del Rio Camuy (in Camuy).
