Thanks to its proximity to the capital and scenic location on Puerto Rico's eastern coastline, Humacao remains a frequent stop for many international travelers.
Get out of town with these interesting Humacao side-trips: El Yunque National Forest (Big Tree Trail, El Yunque Rain Forest, &more). Caguas

Caguas, founded in 1775, is a city and municipality of Puerto Rico (U.S.) located in the Central Mountain Range of Puerto Rico, south of San Juan and Trujillo Alto, west of Gurabo and San Lorenzo, east of Aguas Buenas, Cidra, and Cayey.Caguas is located 20mi (twenty minutes to an hour by car) from San Juan and 40mi (an hour and a half by car; it may take longer because of mountainous area in between the two cities) from Ponce. Start off your visit on the 24th (Sat): pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral Dulce Nombre de Jesus and then examine the collection at Caguas Tourism Office. Here are some ideas for day two: grab your bike and head to Paseo Lineal, get engrossed in the history at Casa Museo Federico Degetau, and then see human ingenuity at work at Represa de Comerio.

Caguas is just a stone's throw from Humacao. April in Caguas sees daily highs of 87°F and lows of 75°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to San Juan.

Manatí is a municipality of Puerto Rico (U.S.) on the northern coast, north of Morovis and Ciales; east of Florida and Barceloneta; and west of Vega Baja.
