Santa Monica

— 35 nights

Fortunate People in a Fortunate Land

A famed resort town since the early 20th century, Santa Monica sits on the picturesque Santa Monica Bay, bordered on three sides by the city of Los Angeles.
Take a break from the city and head to Cold Spring Tavern and Cabrillo Bike Path. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Ocean Avenue and Vasquez Rocks Natural Area. Get out of town with these interesting Santa Monica side-trips: Hermosa Beach Pier (in Hermosa Beach), Civic Musical Road (in Lancaster) and Santa Barbara (Arroyo Burro County Beach Park, Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, &more). Spend the 15th (Thu) exploring nature at Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Spend the 2nd (Sun) exploring nature at Paramount Ranch. There's much more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Carpinteria Harbor Seal Preserve and Rookery, enjoy the sand and surf at Oxnard Beach Park, stroll around Tongva Park, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Wayfarers Chapel.
