The northernmost New York City borough, the Bronx has many claims to fame, including being the birthplace of hip-hop and home of the New York Yankees.
You'll explore and learn at Yale University Art Gallery and Princeton University Art Museum. Bring the kids along to Teatown Lake Reservation and Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Venture out of the city with trips to Hammonasset Beach State Park (in Madison), Princeton (Princeton University & Princeton Public Library) and Jenkinson's Boardwalk (in Point Pleasant Beach). Pack the 4th (Fri) with family-friendly diversions at Sesame Place. There's still lots to do: meet the residents at Bronx Zoo, look for all kinds of wild species at Wolf Conservation Center, visit a coastal fixture at Gateway National Recreation, and view the masterpieces at DM Weil Gallery.

Expect a daytime high around 61°F in April, and nighttime lows around 45°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Thu) to allow time to travel back home.
