Bring the kids along to Old San Juan and Sitio Histórico de San Juan. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Luquillo Beach and Ocean Park Beach. Get out of town with these interesting San Juan side-trips: Fajardo (Scuba & Snorkeling, Fishing Charters & Tours, &more), El Yunque Rain Forest (in El Yunque National Forest) and Carolina Children's Museum (in Carolina). With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Flamenco Beach and Tamarindo Beach. Attractions like Zoni Beach and Playa Punta Soldado Beach make great kid-friendly stops. There's still lots to do: step off the mainland to explore Culebrita Island, enjoy the sea views from Culebrita Lighthouse, tour the pleasant surroundings at Melones Beach, and kick back and relax at Culebra National Wildlife.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Bring the kids along to Sun Bay Beach and Scuba & Snorkeling. Fortin Conde de Mirasol Museum and Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art Gallery are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Next up on the itinerary: kick back and relax at Media Luna Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, trot along with a tour on horseback, and head off the coast to Vieques Island.

You can do a combination of flight and car from Culebra to Isla de Vieques in 4 hours. Another option is to ride a ferry. In July, plan for daily highs up to 36°C, and evening lows to 30°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Sat) early enough to travel to Rincon.

Rincon

A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
Visit Playa Sucia and Balneario de Boqueron for some beach relaxation. Heaven's Gate Convent (Porta Coeli) and Casa Dona Bisa and Museo Historia San Sebastian will appeal to museum buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Rincon side-trips: Horseback Riding Tours (in Utuado), Parroquia San Jose De La Montana (in Lares) and Parque Nacional de las Cavernas del Rio Camuy (in Camuy). There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Jobos Beach, enjoy the sea views from El Faro Lighthouse, get engrossed in the history at Museum of the History of San German, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Crashboat Beach.

Fly from Isla de Vieques to Rincon in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of ferry, shuttle, and car. In July, daily temperatures in Rincon can reach 38°C, while at night they dip to 31°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) so you can drive to Ponce.

Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Museo de Arte de Ponce and El Museo Castillo Serralles. Attractions like Parque de Bombas and Guanica Dry Forest make great kid-friendly stops. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ponce: Casa Museo Federico Degetau (in Aibonito), Pozo de la Virgen Sabana Grande (in Sabana Grande) and Playa de Guanica (Cana Gorda Beach & Gilligan's Island).
