Visiting Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge and Prairie Learning Center and High Trestle Trail Bridge will get you outdoors. Step out of Ames to go to Maxwell and see Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt, which is approximately 34 minutes away.
