Capital of the United States for one year from 1783 to 1784, Annapolis has played a vital role in U.S.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to B&A Trail and 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse. Popular historic sites such as Hammond-Harwood House and St. Anne's Church are in your itinerary. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Annapolis: Old Wye Grist Mill (in Wye Mills) and St. Michaels (Simpatico Itay's Finest & Eastern Shore Brewing). There's much more to do: expand your understanding of the military at U.S. Naval Academy, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Mary's Church, take an in-depth tour of Banneker-Douglass Museum, and take a stroll through Annapolis Historic District.

To see where to stay, reviews, and other tourist information, you can read our Annapolis trip planner .

In June, plan for daily highs up to 81°F, and evening lows to 68°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
