Charlottesville

— 3 nights

Hoo-Ville

Situated at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Charlottesville is perhaps best known as the home of three of the United States' founding fathers, including Thomas Jefferson.
Step out of Charlottesville to go to Shenandoah National Park and see Skyline Drive, which is approximately 1h 10 min away. There's much more to do: admire the landmark architecture of University of Virginia, relax in the rural setting at Carter Mountain Orchard, take in nature's colorful creations at Monticello, and take a memorable tour with Tours.

Asheville to Charlottesville is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Expect a daytime high around 59°F in November, and nighttime lows around 37°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
