Chattanooga

— 3 nights

Dynamo of Dixie

Once saddled with the reputation of being one of the country's dirtiest cities, Chattanooga now boasts a pedestrian-friendly downtown with a network of leafy waterfront trails and free electric shuttles.
Get some historical perspective at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and Point Park - Lookout Mountain Battlefields. Discover out-of-the-way places like Harmony Park Safari and Chickamauga Battlefield. Change things up with these side-trips from Chattanooga: Tigers For Tomorrow (in Attalla), Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park (in Manchester) and Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge (in Birchwood). There's still lots to do: get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports and ponder the design of Coolidge Park.

For where to stay, reviews, more things to do, and more tourist information, refer to the Chattanooga online trip builder.

Expect a daytime high around 63°F in March, and nighttime lows around 42°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Fri) so you can travel back home.
