The Discovery City

More than just one of the nation's top business centers, Columbus is a mixture of many different parts of America, situated at the spot where the so-called "Bible Belt" meets the varied cultures of the Great Plains and Appalachia.
Your inner history buff will appreciate German Village and Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at National Museum of the US Air Force and Easton Town Center. Get out of town with these interesting Columbus side-trips: Sherman House Museum (in Lancaster), Zipline (in Rockbridge) and Dayton (Dayton National Cemetery & Carillon Historical Park). There's lots more to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, sample some tasty brews at Pedal Wagon Columbus, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Joseph Cathedral.

In September in Columbus, expect temperatures between 79°F during the day and 58°F at night.
