Fort Campbell — 3 nights

Fort Campbell is a United States Army installation located astride the Kentucky-Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Clarksville, Tennessee. Change things up with these side-trips from Fort Campbell: Robert Penn Warren Birthplace Museum (in Guthrie), Bell Witch Cave (in Adams) and Fairview (Jefferson Davis Memorial Kentucky State Park & Jefferson Davis State Historic Site). There's much more to do: witness the site of a historic battle at Fort Donelson National Battlefield, identify plant and animal life at Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge, sample the fine beverages at MB Roland Distillery, and stroll the grounds of Fort Donelson National Cemetery.

In October in Fort Campbell, expect temperatures between 72°F during the day and 51°F at night.
