The Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains

Family-friendly places like Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies and Raft Outdoor Adventures will thrill your kids. When in Gatlinburg, make a side trip to see River Rafting & Tubing in Hartford, approximately Hartford away. There's still lots to do: whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, admire the sheer force of Laurel Falls, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Sugarlands Distilling Company, and look for all kinds of wild species at Roaring Fork.

Dayton to Gatlinburg is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and car. Traveling from Dayton in March, things will get somewhat warmer in Gatlinburg: highs are around 60°F and lows about 39°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Thu) so you can drive to Pigeon Forge.

Pigeon Forge is very close to Gatlinburg. In March in Pigeon Forge, expect temperatures between 60°F during the day and 39°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Thu) so you can catch the flight back home.
