Gatlinburg — 3 nights

The Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains

Nestled in the lush, wooded forests of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg is Tennessee’s premier mountain resort destination.
Step out of the city life by going to River Rafting & Tubing and Grotto Falls Parking. Shop till you drop at Goats on the Roof and The Old Mill Candy Kitchen. Spend the 4th (Sun) exploring nature at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The adventure continues: get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, take in the exciting artwork at Fowler's Clay Works, look for all kinds of wild species at Roaring Fork, and kick your exploration up a notch at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks.

For more things to do, maps, traveler tips, and tourist information, read Gatlinburg planning website.

Cincinnati to Gatlinburg is an approximately 5.5-hour car ride. You can also fly; or do a combination of bus and car. In June, daytime highs in Gatlinburg are 86°F, while nighttime lows are 66°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
