Stretching over 9.7 km (6 mi) of pristine south Maui coastline, Kihei is the island's driest and sunniest region, making it a perfect location for water activities and beach leisure.
Step out of the city life by going to Haleakala Crater and Ho'okipa Beach Park. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Baldwin Home Museum and Mantokuji Temple Mission of Paia. Get out of town with these interesting Kihei side-trips: Kahekili Beach Park (in Lahaina), Honokalani Black Sand Beach (in Hana) and Pipiwai Trail (in Haleakala National Park). There's still lots to do: glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, enjoy the sand and surf at Kapalua Beach, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Big Beach.

Expect a daytime high around 90°F in September, and nighttime lows around 72°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Tue) to allow time to travel back home.
