Red Rose City

The heart of Pennsylvania's famous "Dutch Country," Lancaster is one of the nation's oldest inland cities, founded in 1730.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Historic Rock Ford and Hans Herr House Museum. Kids will appreciate attractions like Rough and Tumble Historical Association and Mascot Roller Mills. Explore Lancaster's surroundings by going to Nissley Vineyards and Winery (in Bainbridge), Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area (in Kleinfeltersville) and Conewago Recreation Trail (in Elizabethtown). There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Wright's Ferry Mansion, pause for some serene contemplation at Historic St. Mary's Catholic Church, take an in-depth tour of Lititz Historical Foundation, and get your game on at Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf.

For where to stay, photos, ratings, and more tourist information, refer to the Lancaster route planner.
