Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
Start off your visit on the 7th (Sat): grab your bike and head to Beth Condon Pathway and then sample the tasty concoctions at Allagash Brewing Company. On the 8th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: visit a coastal fixture at Portland Head Light, take in the architecture and atmosphere at The Cathedral Of The Immaculate Conception, then get to know the fascinating history of Marginal Way Walkway, and finally take in the dramatic natural features at Perkins Cove.

New York City to Portland is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus.
